Should anything be too wonderful for GOD? (Genesis 18:14)
In this verse, GOD challenges us to reflect on our desires and hopes. He wants to remind us of the deepest longings of our hearts—whether for ourselves or for others. Often, we wait a long time for a wish to be fulfilled, until we eventually give up hope and are left with only doubt or indifference.
When a wish aligns with GOD’S will, like Abraham and Sarah’s desire for a child, GOD is ready to fulfill that wish—even if it seems absurd or impossible. The question remains: “Should anything be too wonderful for GOD?” If we leave this question unanswered, our wishes may also remain unfulfilled.
However, many people ask a different question: “How could GOD allow this?” This question often sounds like an accusation. But has GOD really allowed what has happened? Or are these the consequences of human choices? Many people, regardless of their faith, have turned away from GOD and ignore His authority.
**What is GOD’S authority?**
GOD’S authority is not only manifested in churches or mosques but in His power to perform miracles. GOD created the earth and all living things. Without His creation, no human would be born. Nothing is impossible for GOD! Many people have turned away from what is possible and focus instead on what they believe is possible. They do not believe that GOD can do something wonderful in their lives.
GOD does not impose Himself. Each person is responsible for how they shape their life. GOD has given us the freedom to make choices. Therefore, the question “How could GOD allow this?” is not entirely correct. Each person bears the responsibility for their life.
**Turning to GOD**
Turning to GOD is not a religious obligation or a bargain. It is not about fulfilling certain rituals to win GOD’s favor. Rather, it is a conscious decision to turn to GOD despite all doubts. We can speak to GOD just as we speak to other people.
GOD is not far away; He is present in our lives. He is justice and love and has turned to each one of us. Yet many people have turned away from Him. Everyone can decide to turn to GOD and say, “GOD, here I am! I want to be with you!”
**The relationship with GOD**
When we invite GOD into our lives, a relationship begins. We should give Him space and allow Him to be the authority in our lives. This means more than simply submitting to authority. It means taking action and involving GOD in our lives.
In Bulgaria, I lived in a slum where many people were so poor that they had nothing to eat. Many had stopped asking GOD for help because they thought that praying was useless. A friend from Vienna told me, “When people pray, they should also act. They should plant potatoes instead of just praying.”
This means that when we live in a relationship with GOD, we need to take action. We should ask GOD for help but also act ourselves. If we are thirsty, we must move to get water.
**GOD’S action and our trust**
My instructor once told us, “If you have done everything to pass your exam, then you can ask GOD for help.” The same applies in life: We must move forward, take action, and rely on GOD. Often, it is not enough to simply pray. We must also take action and overcome our doubts.
GOD can create anything He wants. But He does not take away our responsibility. For GOD, nothing is too wonderful when we believe in Him and have a relationship with Him. When we are reborn as children of GOD, we should live our lives with GOD and in His authority.
**Heinrich Kemmner and the drug center**
I knew a man named Heinrich Kemmner, who had a big heart for young people who had gone astray. Many of them were using drugs. Kemmner asked GOD for help and received the call to establish a drug center. Although he had no money, he found an old farm and asked GOD for financial support. He told others that he wanted to start a drug center and received the money for it.
Kemmner took action and firmly believed that nothing is too wonderful for GOD.
**Your wishes and GOD**
What wishes do you have? Do you believe that GOD, the Creator, can do anything that is too wonderful? Have you asked GOD to begin a relationship with you? If you have doubts, set them aside. Surrender your life anew to GOD and visualize your wish as a goal. GOD will give you clarity. Pray and move towards your goal!
